URI GELLER & ME
I met Uri Geller when I was around eighteen or nineteen-years-old, through his public appearances and his best-selling books in the United States. I was . . . (like millions of other people for the time) fascinated by his electrical/magnetic/kinetic abilities to bend metal (mostly spoons) by concentrating and rubbing the spoons with his fingers, altering atoms of metallic matter, until the spoons or other objects bent or changed form. I studied his technique, knowing he didn’t know how he really accomplished changing the molecular composition of objects anymore than I understood how I read energies around people or could see into the future and the traumatic happenings of the world’s consciousness (yet to come). It just was what it was, but I was curious about how he’d handle his accelerating fame, so I kept my eye on him and watched his growing popularity. I have to admit, I was also curious how he utilized his kinetic energies other than changing the molecular structure of metals. Could he possibly be a healer? A telepath? A seer? It seemed to me his proven abilities would allow him to engage in other realms of psychic ability besides the altering of molecular structures.
In the early nineties, I heard Uri was going to be conducting a seminar in New York, so a friend of mine and I decided to go to the city and see his show in person. He put on a great display of his psychic abilities, without having to resort to the utilization of all the zing and zip of a trained magician. I was able to see in person what I already felt to be true. He was a Genuine Psychic. Different than the normal type of psychic we are all used to hearing about, but nevertheless . . . genuine and sincere. He could do what said he could do in all the books I’d read and what he’d relayed and demonstrated in his television appearances . . . and he displayed his talent and abilities very well. He demonstrated what he was really good at without fanfare or tricks, and he did it effortlessly. He proved he could move objects with his kinetic energies . . . change the structures of metals, and he was excellent at engaging in telepathic imaging.
I didn’t go backstage or attempt to meet him at the time, but I did call him a few weeks later. One thing led to another and a friend and I were invited to go to England to stay at his home and meet him and his family. Uri’s family is as laid back as he is, and as genuine and sweet. None of his family seems filled with, or impressed by themselves, even though his wealth is very apparent. His estate is wondrous and massive. His assistant, Shipi, is a nice guy with a shyness and sincerity that’s enduring. Uri’s wife, Hanna, is also sweet and genuine, welcoming us into her home as if she’d known us forever. I liked her immediately. Uri’s kids were much younger (than they are now), but they were funny and engaging. We felt completely at home in the guest quarters on their estate and the entire Geller family went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and special.
Uri displayed his psychic abilities over and over to us in many ways, and NOT in the ways you’d think he would. For instance, he wore a t-shirt to dinner one night with the zodiac sign of my son emblazoned on the front. He unbuttoned his outer shirt, pointing to the t-shirt beneath, and laughingly said to me . . . “I wore this for Gary.” I’d never mentioned my son’s name to Uri, and more importantly, I’d never mentioned the month of his birth. On another occasion, Uri led me to a photo gallery in a long hall in his home and on the wall of the gallery were photos of an airplane in Alaska, along with my father and his friends standing next to the plane. I was shocked! It seems Uri and I were connected long before I met him . . . through my Dad. He explained that he had taken a trip to Alaska to work a missing person’s case, and one of the pilots present that day was my father and several of his friends. In talking to my Dad later he said, “Yes, I met Uri Geller. He bent a key for me. Damn thing never did work again!”
In answer to my speechless surprise after viewing the photos of my Dad and friends on Uri’s photo wall, Uri said, “Synchronicity Jaye! Everything of lasting importance comes down to synchronistic balance.” I’ve since learned . . . he was right. Life has a way of connecting people to one another through space and time, you just have to watch and look for the psychic connections. Uri will always be in my life. We speak to one another from time to time and e-mail one another news and stuff back and forth. It just is, what it is. Psychic and Human Synchronicity!!
