BILL CLINTON vs. HILLARY CLINTON
Even when Bill Clinton was having some of the worst days of his eight-year presidency, he came across as a man who cared about all humans living on planet earth, holding an acute awareness of the consequences of pollution, and the effects war and pollution have on the psyche of our planet’s inhabitants.
Certainly . . . he made some bad choices. (Who doesn’t?) But he came across as caring about finding solutions for world peace and finding answers to our planet’s ecological problems. The fact that he trimmed and about totally eliminated the monetary deficit of the Untied States meant a whole lot to me. It scares me to be swimming in debt and obligations to other nations. Where does it end? How does it end?
Senator Hillary Clinton is being touted as running for the Democratic candidate for Presidency of the United States in 2008. Hillary Clinton isn’t her husband or his philosophy. She’s her own woman, and I admire that. But . . . to be honest, I’m having a hard time figuring out how she feels about anything that matters to me, pertaining to our planet. Is she for the continuing war presence in Iraq? Would she withdraw our troops from Iraq? How does she feel about Iran and North Korea? Would she impose severe sanctions against these two nations and bring the two leaders to the table? Does she feel as Al Gore does, that we’ve overstepped our ecological boundaries in the past century, which if not contained, will do insurmountable damage to the future inhabitants of this planet? Please, don’t try and tell me the emerging weather patterns are cyclical. Of course . . . our weather is running a pattern cycle, but ignoring human ecological damage from gases and pollutants has helped to raise our core temperatures to unprecedented and dangerous levels. It must be contained.
Does Hillary care about the middle class, and the fact that they’re being extinguished faster than some of the protected species on our planet? These are questions I’d like her to answer . . . in plain . . . simple language. Her husband had the gift of intellect and charisma, without seeming to be out of touch with Middle America. He never seemed to lose favor with the middle of the road people because he knew their questions in advance. (He stayed in touch.)
Has Hillary taken lessons from her husband? I surely hope so. Time will tell.
