Ladybug’s Point of View
Ladybug’s Night Out
My human Daddy’s in the bedroom
Sleeping soundly in his bed
He’s busy making nightly sounds
Big noises inside his head
Human Mommy’s on her computer
She’s busy and she’s ignoring me
I want her to pay attention
So she can take me out to pee
I bring her my yellow ball
I lay it gently at her feet
She pats my head, throws my ball
Continues sitting on her seat
Back to typing and ignoring me
I’m getting a terrible tummyache
If she don’t bring me outside soon
I’m going to make a big mistake
I sit on the floor and stare at her
Wiggling my butt round- to and fro
I wag my tail in mighty distress
It’s really time to go
Suddenly she looks down at me
And a light goes on in her head
“Have you got to go potty my angel
before you get ready for bed?”
“I’ve been sitting here all night
and you’ve been ignoring me
All I need is just a little time
So you can take me out to pee”
“Come on silly, let’s go outside”
She talks in her little girl talk
“We’ll stroll beneath the moon & stars
and we’ll enjoy a wonderful walk”
I find a tree and immediately pee
Then I follow my Mommy’s steps
She talks to me like her very best friend
One of the family and her favorite pets
We walk and we run, and we twist and turn
And we breathe in the sounds of night
She throws my ball and I chase it down
She claps her hands in delicious delight
Back inside she caresses my furry hair
Scratches my ears and kisses my face
She feeds me niblets of food and treats
Then, I settle down for the night in my space
