I wonder how many people will open their eyes and see the connection of the faulty bridge mishap in Minnesota, and connect the dots to the billions of dollars being squandered and wasted in a foreign country, on a people who hate our guts and want us to leave them alone. How many tax dollars sent to others for the building of their country does it take for us to wake up and see the reality of what this stupid war has cost us within the security of our own walls. Our own infrastructure has gone to hell in a handbasket, and still, we continue to cut the funds to build our own country back to higher – more modernized standards. How much more money will we, as citizens of the United States, allow this government to raid from the coffers of our country’s (near empty) savings and retirement accounts? Monies that should be going to the restructuring of our own country, build up and repairs of our bridges, roads, electrical systems, borders, waterways, airways, educational needs, and the futuristic needs and protection of the hearts and souls of our children? Where does it end?
If energy and oil is the cause of this war and the ensuing spending spree, (I see no other logical reason) then we must curtail our use of petroleum products and find alternative ways to fuel our nation. We fight and bully over the utilization of nuclear energies and the ensuing potential nuclear missile of war, but with proper care, boundaries, and ground rules, nuclear energy could be a huge alternative to our present dependency on petroleum.
I read the other day that this generation is protesting the sorry mess our leaders have made for us in masses on the Internet. I think we need to hit the streets again, with picket signs and peace logos, and force them to listen to our voices raised in angry protest. I feel strongly that our soldiers are fighting a war of futility and wasted effort, and they need to come home and take care of their own country and families. This war in Iraq and Afghanistan is futile and wasteful, and only the withdrawal of our troops is an acceptable solution. If we once again march in the streets, maybe the politicians will notice were unhappy and angry, and that we want some kind of logic and vision for the future of our country.
I agree with the olden John Kerry plan (right after the Trade Centers fell) that the policing of our borders, towns, and cities must be done by our police force, not by the military. It is the military’s job to protect and serve the waterways and the airways of our nation from impending dangers and to serve as a presence in countries that are allied with us against war and terror. If we had spent the billions of dollars on the police force of this country, and on the shoring up of the borders of our country, we would be more than secure. Instead, we squandered our tax monies on the infrastructure of a Muslim country that hates our guts and doesn’t want or appreciate our presence there.
It seems to me to be, that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is a war without a lot of thought or actual purpose of being. I do however, note the overabundance of greed that is present within this war. Good intentions and vision and security for us as a nation. Ah Ah! All weve been able to see with our hearts and eyes in this country is the vast mountain of our hard earned money being vested into the infrastructure of a society that hates us, and a country that we continue to build up . . . and tear down . . . on a daily basis.
The eroding and crumbling infrastructure of roads, buildings and bridges within our own country, feels like a tie in to the ongoing, pervasive war we’re fighting in Iraq. A war without a reason for beginning and the feelings of hopelessness that it’ll ever end. As a people, we are feeling at a loss about decisions we can’t control, even though we don’t support the present administration and their decisions. I don’t know about you, but I am angry that as a citizen of the U.S., my feelings are ignored by the present governmental administration. Those feelings of anger and hopelessness about having no say in how our country is run, sends the same vibration through me that a control freak does. A controlling person who is trying their hardest to tell me they’re right, when my heart and soul says, “NO! NO! NO!”
I rebel against a control that feels wrong to me. I want to shout to someone . . . Please, stop this nonsense! I hate what youre doing to scare and control us. Especially . . . when you’re wrong, self centered, and egotistical to boot!
What I’m hearing from my country’s leaders is . . . “You don’t matter, Missie. It’s my way, or the highway.” Like it or not, it’s our decision. No wonder we’re feeling lost and hopeless as a nation. We have no say in how we spend our tax dollars, and no voice to complain, and no ears to listen. It’s like our government feels we are unenlightened children, and have no rights or voice to complain. It’s as if they feel we don’t know any better, and they, the chosen frozen, know what’s best for us. Man, that sucks!
If there’s anyone out there that wants to form a protest march against the crap that’s taking place within our country, let me know. I’m more than ready to make my picket sign, go to Washington, and walk the corridors and walkways in protest of the present administration and the decisions they’ve made for us. Let’s do it!!! Let’s stop the control!!
