DYING IS NOT AN OPTION – POETRY – Installment 15
Not Fair
Life isn’t about being fair
It’s about doing what’s right
Showing we care . . .
Leading others down paths
Of rightness . . .
Caring enough to care
Being there
When life gets tough
When unspeakable frights
Spatters our nights . . .
Then surely we’ll know
Life isn’t about fair
It’s about being there
I’m Waiting
I’m waiting,
To hear how long
my song will last
Before,
I walk the final mile
alone . . .
Where hopefully
I’ll join
others
Who’ve walked the walk
with silent steps
alone . . .
I’ll be shown
the secrets of the unknown
Change my address
Even my dress
No longer guess
about being alone
and walking that mile
alone . . .
