HUGE EARTHQUAKE
Japan has a high danger of major earthquakes in the future. The entire continent is sitting on a very weak fault. Actually, this island country is only being held up by the weakest of fingers. Scientists are aware of the weak plates beneath the surface of the island of Japan. The possibility of a massive earthquake occurring needs to be investigated further.
This is what I see. Try and picture a thin rock, one single rock, like a spiked heartbeat on a heart monitor. Now try and picture this thin rock holding up a nation of millions and millions. Now try and visualize an earthquake occurring just below the thin rock. The ground splits beneath the sea, the rock crumbles, the nation of Japan loses its only support holding its land out of the water. I don’t need to explain the tragedy that will occur to the people, the land, and an entire nation. I don’t need to explain about Tsunami waves affecting other neighboring nations and irreparable damage done to the oceans.
There is no way to minimize such a horrible tragedy other than by being prepared. I realize that to move a nation and its entire people is a formidable task. But the consequences of doing nothing about it is so much worse.
Japan might want to expand its country, moving many of its people to a safer land. It’s only a matter of time. The adjoining countries and continents, sea and land, should consider how an earthquake in Japan of a magnitude to sink most of the land mass would affect their countries. Economies around the world will be affected. The Stock Market should take heed since it is tied in so tightly to the Japanese market and economy. Japan will receive many warnings with major pre-shocks. If the world pulls together, it may be able to relocate this country’s population. I see no other solution.
