RAISING SPIRIT-FILLED CHILDREN
As the 21st Century unfolds, selfishly putting the child ahead of God and the family will cause many problems for our world. Loving unconditionally does not mean turning a child into a selfish tyrant. It means loving and fostering the child and his/her development, so they will become responsible and spirit-filled human beings. The fine line will be hard to see as fewer babies are born in North America and Europe. Parents with only one or two children may have the tendency to overindulge them. There will be many Childhood Development classes for parents coming into existence in this new century, which will teach the fine art of balance.
Children must not be put so high upon the pedestal of life that we forget to teach them responsibility, spirituality, and caring for others. If parents worship the child and give in to all their whims, the child creates a world for himself of selfishness and self-aggrandizement. God must always be foremost in a child’s life. As American money states, “In God we trust.” Nowhere does it state, “In Myself and Money I Trust”. Our forefathers were thoughtful, brilliant, spirit-filled men, with great insight and wise judgment for the times. They established the government of our country so we always gave the credit for our freedoms to God. They created an umbrella of protection for the rights of all men under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. In the United States we have every culture and every religion from around the world living under this umbrella in a relatively peaceful coexistence.
